2023 Michigan State Football Schedule with Game Predictions & Updates

2023 Michigan State Football Schedule and how to watch on TV

College football is a favorite pastime of many sports fans especially in the mitten state, and Michigan State is a team that many people follow closely.

As we prepare ourselves for the 2023 MSU football season, we're excited to see what new feats of strength and skill the Spartan team will bring to the field.

2023 MSU Football TV Schedule:

Against the solid schedule that Michigan State faces this fall, which features four teams who could be preseason Top 15 teams, a 9-3 record can only be viewed as a major success for Coach Tucker.

That would mean at least one win for the Spartans over Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State or Washington — each of whom finished in the Top 10 a year ago.

Beating the Wolverines, in particular, would make this scenario taste even sweeter to all.

A 7-5 finish is more likely in my opinion!

Will Michigan State get back to a bowl game in 2023 despite a brutal schedule?

ESPN's Football Power Index rating system thinks so.

The updated version of ESPN's FPI was released recently, and the computer rating system was very high on the Spartans.

MSU came in as the fifth-highest rated team in the Big Ten and listed at #31 nationally. That's not too bad after a miserable season in 2022.

With a full schedule of games against a variety of foes, let's take a closer look at the Spartan Football schedule for 2023, as well as the predictions for each game.

2023 MSU Predictions:

Central Michigan – Michigan State's football season kicks off on September 1st, 2023, with a home game against Central Michigan.

While Central Michigan might not be the most formidable opponent, Michigan State can't afford to take this game lightly. We predict that the Spartans will start the season strong with a big win.

Richmond – Michigan State will face-off against Richmond in week 2 of the 2023 season. While Richmond is a solid team, Michigan State will have a home-field advantage and we anticipate a win for the Spartans.

Washington – Week 3 of the 2023 season is where things get very interesting as Michigan State takes on Washington, a team that's known for its strong defense. However, the Spartan's powerful offense should be able to overcome Washington's defense, and we predict a victory for the Spartans.

Maryland – In week 4, Michigan State will host Maryland, who they defeated in their last matchup in 2020. The Spartans should win this game handily and continue their win streak heading into the fifth week of the season.

Iowa – Michigan State will take on Iowa in a home game in Week 5. This game will be one of Michigan State's biggest challenges of the season, as Iowa has a solid team. We predict that it will be a close game, but Michigan State will ultimately come out on top with a win.

Rutgers, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, Indiana, and Penn State – Moving into the latter half of the 2023 season, Michigan State will face off against Rutgers, rival Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, Indiana, and Penn State.

While some of these games will be tough, we predict that Michigan State will win most of them, or at the very least, put up a good fight.

All in all, the 2023 Michigan State Football season is looking to be an exciting one.

With a challenging schedule and a strong team, we can't wait to see how the Spartans fare on the field.

Without a doubt, there will be some tough games and hurdles to overcome, but we predict that Michigan State will rise to the challenge and come out on top.
